The business travel sector, which saw companies commit 17.2 billion in 2022 for 25 million 968 thousand trips, including 6.8 million international trips, has recovered a lot of ground from the deep crisis caused by the pandemic.
“In 2023 we will see a return to pre-Covid results, although a forecast is really complicated in such a volatile economic framework as the current one,” observes Andrea Guizzardi (University of Bologna), director of the Business Travel Observatory. Observatory data show the marked domestic characterization of travel with more than 19 million, but the value per expenditure is lower than international travel.
