This summer, ITA Airways’ intercontinental network was enriched with two new star destinations and a new “flagship” joined the fleet.
The first destination is Washington with five weekly flights from Rome operated by Airbus A330-200 with three classes of service available: business, premium economy and economy class. The flight will become daily from August.
In addition, a connection from Rome to San Francisco was inaugurated last July 2, operated by Airbus A350 three times a week, five in August.
With the arrival of the winter season will be the turn of Rome – Rio de Janeiro (from October 29), a daily flight operated with Airbus A330-200 and Rome – Malè *(from December 16) operated with Airbus A330-900, precisely the new flagship of the fleet.
The A330-900 offers three classes: Business, Premium Economy and Economy with the option of purchasing the “Comfort Economy” service dedicated to those seeking a more comfortable seat, thanks to more legroom and a range of extra services including priority boarding and disembarkation. The interiors of have been totally created by designer Walter de Silva, perfectly embodying typical Italian elegance and style in an understated, refined and comfortable guise. The light gradually changes setting taking on different colors at different times of the journey – boarding, takeoff, flight, dinner, lunch, sunrise, sunset, night – to gently accompany travelers to their destination. The class seats are of the latest generation.
Another novelty for those who choose to travel Business Class to a destination and intercontinental: the new summer menu, designed by Chefs Alfonso and Ernesto Iaccarino of the 2 Michelin-starred Ristorante Don Alfonso 1890. On the menu 4 signature dishes to give a complete gastronomic experience, based on the meticulous search for quality and seasonality of raw materials, with special attention to the combinations of flavors, fragrances and colors. It is an innovative menu while reflecting the millennial culture and traditions of the Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast.
